Rhineland-Palatinate ( German : Rheinland-Pfalz , pronounced [ˈʁaɪ̯nlant ˈp͡falt͡s] ; French : Rhénanie-Palatinat ) is one of the 16 states (German: Bundesländer ) of the Federal Republic of Germany .
